What were you taught about religion?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 04, 2008:
They told me my soul chose my fate...
My destiny, my parents and even my mate...
But how could this be, I wanted to yell...
Why would anyone choose a prison cell?
I searched for the truth that would let me be...
Religion tried to trap instead of freeing me...
Months and years of my own contemplation
Only to be drowned in mind deep concentration
The many words and thoughts eventually blurred
Senses raw, felt and saw, tasted and heard
Cloudy minds dissolved into rain water and flowed
Into the cosmic computer to decipher my code
And then I was a telescope zooming strong
To where galaxies and shooting stars belong
Back to the beginning of time and sand
I saw universes not yet on the expand
And then BANG
My whole being sang
The answers came, not in the form of a movie
Or digital pictures, way too groovy
Rather, it was more of an old rooted realization
That penetrated the core of my misty foundation
And I saw ...Omigod...I saw it all...
STOP
This knowledge great may also appall
So let me END by saying thanks to religion...
For what????
For being here, there and everywhere for others who need it...
For failing to fulfill my thirst for answers...for stimulating me...for aggravating me...
It was sufficient fuel to send me on my inward journey ... and voila!
So here I am...the universe at my feet... in all her glory...(but psst...it only appears this way....)
Madness goes on...
Religion flows too...
My destiny, my parents and even my mate...
But how could this be, I wanted to yell...
Why would anyone choose a prison cell?
I searched for the truth that would let me be...
Religion tried to trap instead of freeing me...
Months and years of my own contemplation

Help

wow!
Very nice, Amy….
“For failing to fulfill my thirst for answers…for stimulating me…for aggravating me…”
yes, thanks to religion. We all have our parts to play….
love and wonder, dear one,
CG
Hey Meenakshi…so great to see you….
Thanks C.G…yep…I believe so too…
Love to both of you…
That was faaaaabulous!
OMG, how I adore that poem!
You are my Goddess of Poetry!
(I hadn't been seeing your blogs…didn't know I had to go under “subscriptions”)
I found you, I found you! Yippee! I figured you hadn't been blogging, but ahhh, we all know about assumptions, don't we? LOL!
Thanks Ariela. Your words are sweeter than poetry…so that makes you, my goddess of sweet, artistic, well-timed, much needed words… :-)
(So glad you found me…and I had no clue I am “under a subscription” mode of operandi. Lol…What the heck!! It makes me feel like some online female guru trying to avoid my internet fans.) lol. too funny. Let me know if you have any ideas on putting me back to normalcy..
=) I'm sure it's just me…I must've hit the subscribe button (though I REALLY don't remember doing so)…for you and a few others who have been “M.I.A.”
I used to find you no problem under “friends' blogs”…bah! everything's screwy here at Gaia, while recalibrating Herself, LOL ;-)
So now you know….no, a goat didn't bite me somewhere. LMAO ;-)
Lol. You've me cracking up here. Er…M.I.A. sounds like a Masters degree. I think I ought to wear it beside my name…someone might think its a huge degree of accomplishment …lol…I think Missing in Action is a degree of accomplisment in itself, don't ya think?
More laughter. I'm sure a goat didn't bite you somewhere. I love that phrase. The last time I used it on my hubby, he was like…”Let me have a look just to make sure…”
Wow Amy! Rattle me timbers even!
Somehow I just knew it wasn't a mistake to fall in love with you but now I know for sure. I'm so happy you found you because the you in you is the only religion that I know, that I love. Everything else is just dusty books. But books will do when there are no arms around us.
Aw…my valentine was here! Sooooooo cool. First, I fell in love with the man…er…or was it with his words? Hmm….and next…it was his storytelling paintings….and now….mmm…his poetic words… Sigh.
Kidding aside…thanks Doug, your words rock!! Always poetic and wisdom filled. Soooooooo thoroughly sweet….sweeter than all the nectar in the world…. :-)
Can't we come to some compromise between getting married and kidding?
Hey maybe we have?
Friends can fall in love right, and still be friends?
Happens all the time, every day even, maybe even right now?
Oh yes I feel it stirring under that small space right under the breast bone, spiralling out, going right smack through the screen in front of me, hopping across routers and servers, in sealed rooms with noisy fans and quiet men with thick black rimmed glasses, there for only one reason tonight, on this night of all nights. Like a message in a bottle tossed with the last remaining hope of desire answered, contained within. Oh make sure this message lands where it should.
You're such a sweety Amy. Many warm thoughts. ;-)
Lol. Yep. Why not? Let's compromise in this universe….because in another, we are probably married ….and in yet another we are totally kidding …(Grins)
So….in this particular universe, if we are smack in the middle of married and kidding…where exactly is that? Hmm…. Ah!! I see!!!…We are in the friendship zone…exactly where the message in the bottle lands…exactly where it should… :-)
So here is to friendship love…the pure, lasting kind…
Thanks Doug, for sharing joy and love and laughter with me….
**Ariela tiptoes out to give Amy and Doug “a moment”, muttering to herself about how those 2 need to just get a room**
LMAO ;-)
I am with you Ariela sometimes people just need a little privacy. LOL. Good you two “friends”. (smile)
Lol. Omg. Ariela and Shea-bird, you gals are bringing out the laughter in me. Lol.
I have to stop to wipe my eyes.
Okay. All done… Well gals…before poor Doug gets the “belna” ya know…the rolling pin from his love ones…I better hasten to declare that the love we talk about is just the gay kind…lol…that's not coming out right…okay…the innocent, platonic, friendship kind…
Psst…not to worry. I know you gals are kidding. But thanks for the laughter… and Shea-bird, so glad to meet you here on my blog.
You gals rock!
Amy :-)
Glad you are smiling. It is good to meet you also.
Well I'll be a fake lesbian!
Get a room indeed!
Ouch, Bang, Crunch!
“Honey, we're just friends, I swear! Let go of my ear, Ouch!!
****** News Flash*******
I love to see when people can have fun with each other. Comfortable.
LOL, LOL, LOL!!! =)
Of course I was kidding, I feel the love here! I think it's sooo beautiful and sweet….I wish everyone could be this way with each other! A non-sexual type of love, you know? It's all in fun, my gentle way of teasing, never intending harm…just a smile ;-)
Amy, is that how you spell belna? LOL, another weird word we both know! Heard my mom use that word since childhood, just didn't know how to spell it, hahahaha…good to know that she wasn't making it up, LOL.
Hugs Shea, Amy and Doug!
Doug, good luck on the fake lesbianism, LMAO ;-)
Hey guys…Thanks for coming to play in my playground…er….blog… You put the sun in my smile… :-))
Absolutely Shea-bird. I love it when we loosen up and let a little harmless fun flow…
I love you, Doug. Lol…Hopefully that doesn't get you any more “Ouch, bang, crunch.”
And Ariela,…I have a feeling if you and I were to ever meet up, we will be laughing and giggling non-stop… you remind me of my sisters…
And hey…soooooo glad you heard about the famous “belna.” My mom still calls it that to this day. Not sure why such a name, probably a Hindi word…and let me tell ya, it's a multipurpose tool…yes…it could even be a hammer…and get this….it's also a perfect tool to hit philandering guys over the head with….trust me…many a woman in my home town have used it…lol…effectively.
