What's your favorite poem? Why?

Posted on Jun 19th, 2007 by Goddess2day : Poet, Philosopher, Writer, Wannabe. Goddess2day
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 17, 2007:

My fave poem is William Blake's Auguries of Innocence.

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

He has captured a truth that is usually hard to express in words.

I too see a world in a grain of sand.

Funny thing is there is this belief that the entire creation did arise from matter more tiny than a grain of sand.

I too see heaven in a wild flower....

My mind cease to exist....

I know how to hold infinity in my palm and eternity in an hour...

To hold the wonders of the universe in simple things, to lose myself, to go beyond the mind, to make the past and the future disappear, to dwell in the present moment, the twilight zone....and become brilliant oneness with my  universe....
